February Bouquet

Yesterday's rain washed some of the grime off the streets and the sun has shown it's winter face this afternoon. Nice respite before more snow. I am happy for my brides (yes, I am claiming them) today. Here is a pretty white bouquet from last week and the church pieces. Enjoy your weekend!
Fringed tulips, peonies, tuberoses, tibet rose, hellebore, freesia and geranium

Very Romantic

Left to my own devices I put together some bountiful, colorful and lush flowers for The Wedding Event last night. I met lots of nice people, sampled too much cake, listened to some strings and watched a glorious sunset over the Hudson River. All round a pretty classy night.

The Days

Hello folks.  I have been such a bad blogger lately. Sorry, please hang in there. I promise to have lots of new work soon. I've been busy meeting lovely brides to be, some with their fiances', some with their moms, some with the whole clan (I love when the dads come). My new apartment is still a mess as I try to empty a box or two at night. First wedding of 2011 is tomorrow. All whites and greens. Fresh.

Here is my world lately. Hope you are all well.

 A French toast kinda morning
Another morning. At least it's not completely pitch black at 6am anymore.
Beacon in the dark. Calling me....
Riot of color reminds us spring will be here. Not soon enough.
To market, to market to buy a fat rose...
home again, home again...
jiggety joes?...

Red Birds and Blue Bicycles

Back in October on a beautiful crisp fall day I created one of my favorite Chuapphs. I blogged about it here. The bride was looking for a very "unwedding factory look" for her rather traditional venue. Fortunately, she came to the right gal (I don't even know how to make those big tall flower candelabra arrangements!) and also the room was really really pretty with lots of natural light. Here are the results. The incredibly talented photographer Cappy Hotchkiss just sent me a disk. Congratulations to Sarah and Yehuda!!

I will be joining forces with Bon Bon Oiseau and Sesame Letterpress at the always fabulous Brooklyn Flea tomorrow. Selling some cute little tea tins filled with fresh blooms. Don't forget your sweetheart!

Hot Lady

Helloooo out there. Is anyone still there? I have so much happening over here. Between moving apartments, meeting clients and orchestrating a HUGE Valentine's Day install...well I've had to take a little blogging break. But I am back with the pics to prove it! When is the last time you pulled an all nighter? We were at Macy's Tuesday night until 4:30am creating this bad boy. Or should I say Hot Lady. That's about 2000 hot lady roses all hand water picked for Ralph Lauren Romance perfume display for Valentine's Day.
Here is something I can tell you about Macy's Herald Square...it is it's own little world and chugs along 24 hours a day. The other thing is that the musack plays ALL NIGHT LONG! I am afraid Kenny G has been permanently burned into our skulls.
The structure sans flowers.
 2am and feeling giddy
Here we are finishing it off. Now I have to return everyday and fluff it up, change out the bad ones. It will be up until Tuesday Feb 15th, if you find yourself shopping this weekend!
