Good Bye 2011, Hello 2012

So folks, the year comes to close....It's been a busy and creative year. I am so very grateful to all my lovely 2011 couples. A hearty thank you to you all for having me be apart of your magical day. And to my awesome, rockin' don't stoppin' flower making crew. Thank you Jenni, Sara, Eliza, Parnell, Heather, Rachel and Niki. And to the lady who has the cleanest van in the market and hauls me all over town and back. Thank you Monica (and Papi). I've loved working with Adrienne and Tory and look forward to more collaborations in 2012. Thank you! This end of the year thank you post would not be complete without thanking my blogging floral gals..you constantly inspire me as you work your magic in Virginia, Texas, California, Michigan, Vermont, Barcelona, Glasgow, Sidney and of course Brooklyn and beyond!!! And thank you dear readers from far and wide for checking in on me from time to time. I am forever indebted. Happy and healthy to all. See you next year!

Yuletide Greetings

Since we are a dual faith household our Littlest Pheasant has already been indulged up to her ears in presents, sweets, parties and celebrations all week. And the fat man has not even shown up yet. Oy! After the wrapping paper settles, we plan on doing NOTHING. Maybe some movies in the middle of the day, napping and more eating. Then we will be visiting dear friends up in the hills of Western Mass for New Years Eve. I will slow the blogging for a bit but will be back rejuvenated for a slamming 2012 weddings season. I'm booking fast and really excited about working at some new venues. A whole new crop of blushing brides and gallant grooms await.

Wanting to take this time to wish you all a very special holiday season filled with loving family and friends, good cheer and much inspiration. Peace and Love - Denise

Winter farming

Just back from a really great site visit with a 2012 bride. Afterwards, I found myself near Union Square so I strolled through the Farmer's Market. The sun was blazing high in the sky and the air smelled of pine and hot cider. Look at my goodies! There was an unbelievable bounty for mid December. Hot house tomatoes! Here's my straightforward food styling...line it up and click. Talk soon.

Baby Baby's Breath

So I was finally up at the market this week and I have to say I was underwhelmed. But then Tuesday is a pretty dismal day to shop. I did gather some pretties to play with. I will post soon. Otherwise, I've been...well honestly not very inspired to blog lately. Been working behind the scenes trying to develop some new ideas, new web site. These things take forever. As 2011 closes and my 3rd year of business ends I am thinking of writing a post on what did not work rather than what did. I'll get back to you on that. In the meantime I am so happy to show you some pics from a very special couple from back in September. Congratulations Liz and Nick!

Kitchen Art

Spotted these lovely watercolor prints on Etsy just now. Perfect gift for the foodie on your list. I'll be buying either from small local businesses, other artists and crafters or making gifts this year. Trying to limit littlest pheasant's exposure to plastic crap. Not sure how successful I will be. She has already said with firm conviction that Toys R Us is the Greatest Toy Store on earth. She was said she thought so because the TV told her. Whoops.

Hudson Valley Wedding

Hello Peeps (is that annoying to call you peeps?) How are you this chilly November day? Very excited to show you this glorious wedding. It's been under wraps, waiting for Style Me Pretty to post. Full post with more images are here. Sending much love to Alix and Ashley.

Also you can read some Q&A from me over here (humbled to be included in such great company) Thanks Lotte! Have a super day. xo

Autumn Gold

Hello friends. I've been down and out for a couple of days with a head cold. Two days in bed, sleeping, knitting and watching a Gone with the Wind marathon (God, I love that movie). I am very grateful to wonderful friends who gave me a helping hand by walking Ruby to school and watching her afterwards. I thought I'd be up at the flower market this week in order to make some holiday wreaths to show you but alas, it was not meant to be. Instead I poked around Etsy finding some autumnal treasures. Hoping you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
