Coral Charm

Good Monday People. Jane over at Small but Charming had this lovely idea that we all post images on flowers in our home today. Because this week is our big apartment move I'm afraid all my vases are already packed. So I cheated.....here are some flowers in the studio instead.
Coral Charm Peony. Drop dead gorgeous. It starts out a deep pinky coral and fades to a light peachy yellow as it opens.
A little photo by Kiki Smith keeps watch over all the flower making in my studio.
Button ferns and Irish moss waiting to be placed in terrariums.
Drink it in!

I luv etsy

The collection of tarnished sugar bowls and creamers continues. What do you want to see inside? Muscari? Tea roses? I will oblige.

Frozen

UGH. This is what I am feeling today. Ain't gonna lie. This frigid weather has me feeling stiff and creaky. And there is so much to do. UGH. Thank goodness my hands will be arranging flowers this weekend. I need some color. In the meantime I am typing proposals and packing up boxes as I dream of summer in Maine...

Star Flower

I've been sitting on these photos for awhile now. I had to hold off because the wedding was published in here (YAY!):
And then with everything going on I totally forgot! The photos are by Bethany Bandera. The bride's name is Stella Fiore or Star Flower. How perfect is that!

The Nest

Made another inspiration board for our new "nest" last night. Most interior images are from googling Domino Magazine - which I sorely miss right around now!

I Love Brooklyn

Hello everyone. This past fall I had the utmost pleasure of working with the NICEST couple in helping make their very vintage inspired Brooklyn wedding a reality. The Montauk Club is such a gem. Much congratulations to Beth and Ian! All photos by Brookelyn Photography.

Chain of thoughts

Looking at rugs by Madeline Weinrib....

Led to looking at Gee Bends quilts ...
Which led to vintage Japanese futon covers...
Which ultimately reminded me of the paintings of Sean Scully...
With stripes on the brain, I head out into the day. Enjoy your weekend.

In a Grid

Taking a little break from writing proposals (they are on the way, promise!) to indulge in some home decor. Love this interior, the way the art work is hung, that bench and that dreamy rug. Found on Delight by Design

Wishing for Summer

Ah, summer you are so far off. But we can reminisce while looking at these photos from July. Makes you want to pour yourself a tall glass of lemonade, no? Oh I do love weddings.

Change is Good

Good morning. Made this little collage last night and found it very satisfying. I have a BIG project to tackle soon - we will be moving apartments. I hope you will follow me as I attempt to make it a home. It's low on architectural character but high on natural light. I will be sad to leave our little pad, it being where we started our family but I am excited for our new adventure. Fell in love with the interior below. That will be my main inspiration. Stay warm my east coast friends!

What Next

Hello. Did you all have a nice New Years? I am a little late to the whole posting resolutions thing. I have the standard ones just like the rest... get back into shape, get more organized, work on this, improve that. But I have to admit the whole constant self improvement thing is more than a little exhausting, no? Therefore, I am making the conscience decision to put off all resolutions until Feb 1. Ahhhh, I feel so relieved.

I truth I am going to make monthly resolutions instead. Each month I will tackle a new one. Trying to do everything at once will only lead to disappointment - I know from experience! If I manage to make in roads on others during that time then all the better but NO PRESSURE. So this month my resolution is to be creative. To make things with paint and paper, string and needles, clay and glazes, camera and printer. YAY! I'm so excited. I will post what I come up with. Knowing you are all out there will get me going.

Here is a Japanese cake mold I just bought to help me with my efforts.
