Lynhurst Castle in Tarrytown. When we pulled up I thought "oh man! Ruby has to see this place! It's a real live castle". What a stunning venue. With my best flower girl by my side we had a great time installing and making everything look just right. It was a dream. Then as we waited for the ceremony to end to dismantle the chuppah, we took a little stroll around the property. Funny thing...according to the info plaques, the property was considered too flashy for it's day. Kinda the McMansion of the early 19th century. You wonder if these big new fabricated homes will ever be considered our historic treasures in the future?? Doubt it... Anyway back to the wedding. It was a celebration of autumn, all woodsy and wild.

I love the draping of the Queens Anne's lace over the rose. It reminds me of looking up and through the old trees in my neighborhhood. Dramatic and pretty and it suits the location brilliantly.
Hooray for 19th Industrialists! They've peppered the land with high ceilings, big windows,cozy nooks and amazing views. Not to mention the landscaping. Old stonework beats pressed board any day.

Thank you for making everything look so gorgeous and perfectly elegant and rustic. you struck the right balance that kept our wedding from going in the fairy tale direction. I mean, we chose a castle and all, but it was really the grounds we fell in love with, and you brought everything together so perfectly. can't wait for another excuse to have you grace us with your designs!

We were there more than 20 years ago, but only on the grounds and not inside. Your flowers are just lovely in that setting.
Is the green house still there? It was huge, but all the glass broken when we saw it - a lovely old lady in need of much repair.
