Perfect Autumn Evening

Wave Hill. One of New York City's true gems. I have always wanted to do a wedding here. I finally got the chance. It is a stunning public garden and historic home.
For the ceremony the thinking was, why compete with that stunning view of the Hudson River and the immaculately designed pergola garden? So we simply tied bay leaf and rosemary to the chair arms and made paper bag luminaries. Pretty, clean and soooo fragrant. The escort table: sweet gum, olive branch, bay leaf, smoke bush in a copper french pail, antique hydrangea in a tapered terra cotta pot, mini pot with scabious and lavender, fig branch, flickering candles in mercury glass votives all on a bed of moss. The bride found these adorable seating cards - they were seed packets and doubled as little favors. Perfect for a garden wedding.

Denise,

It all looks pretty near perfect to me. Sometimes the simpler the better, heh?

I love the place cards on the bed of moss, such a simple idea but really lovely... and what gorgeous hydrangeas.
