Pretty Bouquet for Fall

Tree peony, oh tree peony how I adore you. Cream to pink to coral to red to plum (with green) is how I would describe the coloring of this bouquet. Vintage brooch finishes it off. Enjoy!

Harvest

A glorious fall day brought together burgundy dahlias, orange roses, local hydrangea, bittersweet, calendula, scabiosa and other goodies for a beautiful Saturday afternoon wedding at the River Cafe. I worked with one of the sweetest bride's ever. It was as if "fall" finally clicked for me. Later I made a tray of roasted squash, kale chips and lentil soup. Cooking and flower arranging, as many of you know, go hand and hand.

Little Red Birds

It's getting chilly put there folks. Are you ready for winter? I am. I yearn for quiet gray skies. Here are some images of the reception centerpieces - red dogwood branch, local hydrangea, smoke bush, black beauty rose,  juliette rose, amaranthus, jasmine, mini rose hips, geranium leaves and the most goooorgeous red dahlia. A feast!

Mazel Tov

On Sunday, very early we headed out for a hour drive along the Palisades to install a wedding. The sun was streaming down and the leaves were aglow. It was quite breathtaking. I was (as usual) a bit jumpy as we left the studio, fretting the drive time. But by 10am I had completed this amazing Chuppah. I loved how it turned out. I remember as I stood on the ladder, clipping and wiring the sound of birds and the breeze swirling around me. It felt good and I was happy to be making something with my hands. Enjoy fall.

Sesame Letterpress

I couldn't resist posting a plug for my fellow wedding worker, crafting buddy and mommy pal, Breck at Sesame Letterpress. She and her husband created these gorgeous plates for West Elm. SO lovely!! I want them all. Fabulous job.
