Flopsy Mopsy

I adore lilacs...their heady scent and their color whether it be pale lavender or rich purple are divine. But I have to admit I they remind me of Sesame Street muppets with their flopsy selves. Or maybe I am watching too much kid's TV?

Decoupage King

I was in the East Village the other day taking notes for a wedding I am doing this summer. It is at a supremely magical venue. Can you guess? Check it out here. More on that later. Anyway...I use to live, go to school and then later work in alphabet city for years and years. It was nice to be back in the old hood. It being a gorgeous day, I strolled over to one of my favorite NYC shops. Of course everyone knows about John Derian, the man who single handily elevated the craft of decoupage to new heights. I can say with certainty if I was a very wealthy woman I would purchase one or maybe two of every single thing in this shop.

I keep staring at this textile (an antique Suzani) - the colors, the patterns, all that handwork! I would love to make an arrangement inspired by this. And how I wish to be reading in that cozy little spot! Images here found via this great blog, An Indian Summer.

I should be working but my mind is all over the place. I am dreaming of summer already. I have all these balls in the air and I am working to not drop them. My mind swells with wedding flower details, unfinished art projects, a messy house that needs cleaning, errands and more errands and potty training questions. These lovely photos are by Irene Suchocki from her blog eye poetry.

The Met

Yesterday, Littlest Pheasant and I packed up the stroller and headed out in the rain to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I had not been there in years. My God, that place is magical. It contains so many beautiful treasures from all over the's completely staggering. We wandered all around looking for animal images. I guess all that art knocked her out. Before I knew it she climbed into her stroller and nodded off...leaving me some time to photograph. I found myself entranced by the Greek and Roman Art Galleries. I am now dreaming of designing a wedding using similar shaped urns and vessels with bits of gold trimming. That and I would totally live in a palazzo if I could.

Wedding Bloggers

On April 25, I met up with friends Monika, Breck and Rebecca and headed over to The B-List event at Galapagos Arts Space in Dumbo to chat it up with fellow creatives in the wedding biz. It was great to put a face to some of my favorite wedding bloggers and meet them in person. As well talk to other wedding vendors and swap stories. Thank you Vane and Anne for organizing such an excellent event!

Adorable Vintage Find

These vintage strawberry pin cushions are so cute. I see a bunch of daisies in a milk jar sitting right next to them. More great vintage finds at Sweet Love Vintage.
