Happy Mother's Day

Ladies and the occasional gent (?), how are you? I am still here after a busy weekend -2 amazing weddings, a handful of mother's day orders then a busted bathroom sink and ceiling leak that all ending with one delicious breakfast of French Toast and coffee made with love by my husband and the littlest pheasant. Of all the things I've done in life having the honor of being this little person's mama is by far the greatest. She fills me with the ultimate joy. We have BIG plans for the 4 year old birthday celebration that is coming up soon. Wait till you see the invites we started making! They are so cute (yes, I am bragging). Till then I am going to bed, I am too tired to think. Happy Mother's day to all the moms and those that take the time to care and nurture others. Thank you to my mom. My hero and "that silly Grandma, she always gives me chocolate".

Bedside Flowers

I'm feeling a little grumpy today. Not sure why. Things are good. Really good. Many jobs. Healthy family. Sunny days. Yet I am so sluggish and irritated. I try and keep my blog upbeat but today I just need a nap. Sorry to complain. Here is a sweet little arrangement I made that despite my mood made me smile. I always recommend buying one fancy bloom to place by your bedside. Instant happiness. 

Inside Glass

See that white flowering branch in the glass to the left? It's called Madonna, a double flowering white cherry. It is very very lovely indeed. My favorite flower guy at the market gave it to me. I toted it around with me all morning. It was in sad shape by the time I got back to the studio. I placed in some water and TA DA, a few minutes later it actually perked back up. It will not be ready to harvest (is that the word?) until next year...maybe two. All my spring brides will have this. Ooooo..I can't wait. 

 

 

 

Limoncello

Few more images from yesterday's wedding including the bridal bouquet. This bouquet smelled liked heaven! Lilly of the valley, 2 kinds of peonies, hyacinth, tulips, rununculus, limoncello roses, sweet pea and hosta. I forgot to mention the venue (thank you Jane ;) It was in a lovely loft space on 36th street called Gary's Loft. It was pure white room filled with really nice vintage farmhouse and industrial pieces like weathered leather club chairs and worn wooden tables. The kitchen was really lovely with deep porcelain sinks. I believe this was there first event. Any couples out there who are still looking for a venue may want to check them out.

Yellow and white

Wedding today. Farmhouse Modern or Country Chic we were calling it. Either way, it was really fresh, and fragrant. Peonies, parrot tulips, billy buttons, mums, geranium and lilac. Simple and clean. I loved it.
