Bridal Guide September

What are you doing this weekend? I am event free. Wheeeeeee! Monday we head out for a 3 day family getaway to the mountains. I need a recharge - big time. The fall is jammed packed and I am already there in my head. Reflection and relaxation are in order. I leave you with some press in Bridal Guide. It made my day.

Beach Wedding

We did a really great wedding this past weekend. It was held at the Crescent Club out on Long Island's Gold Coast. The venue was tastefully designed had phenomenal ocean views. Plus, not only was the couple super sweet and lovely to work with but the staff was top notch. I've decided to give a special shout out to nice and accommodating staff people. They can really make or break your whole experience as a vendor. So thank you to the nice folks at the Crescent Club! Here's what we did:

Tall metal pails filled with beach grasses and queen anne's lace marked the aisle that was lined a burlap runner.
Some tables had this configuration:
And some had this:
For the bride and groom table we did something a little different. Also, we hand wrapped the glass vases with twisted muslin fabric and then white washed them.
Blue and green bouquets for the maids who wore phenomenal coral colored dresses.
Mini cymbidium orchds for the boutonnieres. I wouldn't dare use fragile flowers for this wedding. It was hot out there!
And for the Bride

A day at the MET

I've been a little late in updating the blog lately. But with summer in full swing I've been taking some time to enjoy it. I had the most wonderful day last week. My girl and I got up early and headed out to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As we climbed the majestic stairs to enter the cool grand lobby, she gasped "oh momma, this is the most beautiful place I've ever seen". Oh yes, just wait until you see all the treasures it holds. Once inside we traveled to Ancient Egypt, Renaissance Italy and saw "real princess rooms" in 18th century France. Nothing restores me like a trip to the MET. You must see the Ellsworth Kelly exhibition of plant drawing. It's sublime, no joke. Now all I want to do is move to the country for a period of time and make drawings. One day, I'll make it happen. I hope you are feeling inspired. I'm leaving you with some pics of the day.

Finally, can't leave without posting a flower pic. A most favorite bouquet made for a favorite bride. For Emma.
